Our 8 ply XL is not only thicker and stiffer, but it is also a touch wider than the 6 and 7 ply options. Our max width on the XL is 9.5”, which is 0.3” wider than the more slender options. We are thinking about our XL riders, and often times, these riders have larger feet. -
Supersonic 6 Ply
We believe the 6 ply option to be ideal for riders under 170 pounds. If you’re on the high end of this, we recommend picking this board ONLY if you’re intending to ride primarily on the zero degree rear option, and you want it to flex. You will likely need to be around 150 lbs or under to use the far rear option. -
Rolling in with a 66mm diameter, are the Powell Peralta 82a Snakes, which are ready to be put sideways with their wicked blue urethane!
The Powell Peralta Downhill Team has been busy in the RnD department developing a totally new SSF formula in 82a that will further widen the offerings from Powell-Peralta. This 82a formula will be grippier than the 75a SSF you’ve come to rely on while offering a more sugary and in the pavement feel. Being 82a, this wheel will also resist chunking and chipping and is a superior choice for dancing, freestyle, or those who want a bit more engagement with the road. -

BAMBOO Heavy
The Bamboo heavy is stronger and stiffer than the medium flex. Riders up to about 240 lbs should be able to ride this deck flat with the 92mm Karma wheels and a 50 degree truck up front (rear would be 40 or 43 based on current options). Heavier riders may be able to get away with riding this deck by compensating with larger wheels and some risers to create more space between the ground and the low point on the board. This deck is not as stiff as our 8 ply maple / glass version. Consider it more like a 7 1/2 ply, if you are familiar with our maple versions of this deck. If you’re above 230 lbs, you may start to consider the 8 ply maple version of this deck, as it is a bit stiffer and will still be able to hold your weight without any fear of failure. OR if you just want a stiffer setup, the 8 ply is still available–until it’s not! -

For setup we recommend pairing your board with either Caliber 3 9" Raked Trucks in a split 50/44 setup on either 90mm Boa Hatchlings or 86mm McFly wheels by 88 Wheel Co. Both setups will give you an insanely stable and fun to push and get around town board. These big wheels will soak up the pavement and give you a new found confidence.
